Wali of Al Amerat Patronises ‘Ageing in Good Health’ Event to Promote Health Awareness and Foster Prevention

His Excellency Hamad bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Wali of Al Amerat, patronised the ‘Ageing in Good Health’ event organised by the Directorate General of Health Services in Muscat Governorate, represented by the Second Health Cluster Department, at Al Amerat Public Park. This event was held with the involvement of numerous health institutions, and government and private entities, to reinforce health awareness and foster prevention in the community.

The event featured a range of medical services, awareness programmes and interactive activities, including free medical check-ups, consultations and health advice provided by specialists. Visitors were also introduced to proper healthy practices and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.

The event focused on three main areas: promoting the health of older people and addressing their healthcare needs; raising awareness of diabetes and ways to prevent its complications; and encouraging physical activity and the adoption of healthy lifestyles, in line with awareness-raising efforts associated with relevant international health observances.

The accompanying booths attracted strong engagement from visitors, who took part in the educational activities and benefited from the health services provided. The event also enabled them to interact directly with healthcare professionals and receive health guidance, as part of the integrated efforts of health institutions and government and private entities to promote health awareness and strengthen preventive behaviours in the community.
