Representing the governorate in its dealings with other parties and courts.
Drafting projects for the governorate’s development plans in coordination with the relevant authorities, and monitoring their implementation.
Working to reinforce the economic and social aspects of the governorate.
Drafting the governorate’s annual budgets and final accounts, and submitting them to the Ministry of Finance.
Issuing decisions to impose municipal charges within the framework of the State’s general policy, after approval by the Ministry of Finance.
To coordinate with the relevant entities on determining land uses within the governorate, without prejudice to the powers of the municipal councils in this regard.
Communicating with the local community that serves the public interest within the governorate.
Receiving complaints relating to the governorate’s remit and taking appropriate decisions in this regard.
Coordinating with the heads of government departments regarding the performance of their branches and offices in the governorate, in the light of the reports submitted to him by the walis.
To directly supervise the walis, follow up on their daily work, evaluate their performance, and submit periodic reports on them to the Minister.
Submitting an annual report detailing the results of the governorate’s works, and any matters requiring referral to the Council of Ministers, to the Minister for submission to the Council of Ministers.
Any other duties that the Minister may assign to him.
