Wali of Quriyat Reviews Details of Wadi Majlas Flood Protection Dam Project

His Excellency Sheikh Talal bin Saif Al Hosani, Wali of Quriyat, met with specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources to review the details of the project to construct a dam to protect against flood risks in Wadi Majlas. Numerous officials from relevant government entities, besides several sheikhs, community leaders, and representatives of villages and areas located along the wadi attended the meeting.

The meeting included a visual presentation on the dam construction project, outlining its components and objectives, besides its importance in strengthening the flood risks protection system and mitigating its impacts. Thereby contributing to protecting residents, properties and facilities within the wadi`s area.

The meeting also covered several the project`s technical details through maps and illustrative plans showing the dam`s dimensions, measurements and storage capacity. As well as the lateral protection channel and the associated engineering solutions to organise watercourses and manage water flows during rainfall events.

The meeting forms part of efforts to introduce the project and its components, inform residents and representatives of the areas located along the wadi`s course of its details, and reinforce communication with the community regarding projects that contribute to enhancing protection and safety and boosting infrastructure in the wilayat.
