Wali of Al Amerat Reviews Programmes of the Omani Women Association and Al Wafa Centre for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities

His Excellency Hamad bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Wali of Al Amerat, today visited the Omani Women’s Association and Al Wafa Centre for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, to review the progress of work and the programmes and services provided, identify the key challenges and needs, and discuss development proposals aimed at improving performance and strengthening the role of both institutions in serving the local community.
During his visit to the Omani Women’s Association in Al Amerat, His Excellency reviewed the activities, programmes and initiatives implemented by the Association in women’s empowerment, capacity development and boosting community participation. He discussed the key challenges facing the Association and proposals to advance its performance and expand its programmes and initiatives, thereby reinforcing its contribution to community development in the wilayat.
His Excellency the Wali also visited Al Wafa Centre for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Al Amerat, where he followed up on the centre’s work, as well as, exploring the rehabilitation programmes, activities and services provided to beneficiaries. He was briefed on the efforts made to advance their capabilities and skills and promote their integration into society. The centre’s needs and the challenges it faces were also discussed, along with ways to address them through development proposals and solutions that would contribute to improving the quality of services and enhancing its rehabilitation programmes.
The two visits form part of the efforts of the Office of the Wali of Al Amerat to foster direct communication with community and service institutions, identify their needs, and support their efforts to develop their programmes and services. These efforts enhance integration and community partnership and contribute to achieving sustainable social development objectives, in line with the priorities of Oman Vision 2040.
