15/10/2026

The Health Committee in Seeb has signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation with the Arab Open University as part of efforts to strengthen community partnership, enhance coordination among institutions, and support the wilayat’s efforts to obtain international accreditation from the World Health Organization as the first healthy wilayat in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.

The memorandum aims to reinforce cooperation between the two sides and make use of their available capabilities and expertise. Thereby supporting health, awareness and community programmes and initiatives, advancing public health, and enhancing efforts to achieve the objectives of Seeb as a Healthy Wilayat.

The cooperation includes implementing several health initiatives and services on the university campus, including free field and periodic health screenings to measure blood pressure and blood sugar levels, organising blood donation campaigns, and providing seasonal vaccinations. It comprises the provision of technical consultations to support the university’s efforts to obtain the “Health-Promoting University” certification.

The cooperation covers conducting awareness lectures and seminars, as well as conducting certified training courses in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Thereby boosting health consciousness and promoting proper healthy practices among students and academic and administrative staff.
