Quriyat Health Committee Discusses Developing Healthcare Services and Reinforcing Awareness Programmes

The Health Committee in Quriyat held its second meeting for 2026, chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Talal bin Saif Al Hosni, Wali of Quriyat, as part of its efforts to follow up on health-related matters and explore ways to develop healthcare services and reinforce community awareness of priority health issues.

     The meeting reviewed numerous topics, including the decision to establish the Health Committee and the rebuilding of Quriyat Hospital. It also reviewed the National Guide for the Methodology of Health Services Planning and its importance in supporting sound healthcare planning and identifying needs in a manner that contributes to improving the standard of healthcare provided to the community.

     The committee members discussed the importance of intensifying awareness efforts regarding the pre-marital medical screening programme, introducing its objectives and role in promoting family health and preventing certain hereditary and communicable diseases. They also highlighted the importance of raising awareness about the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine and its preventive role.

      The meeting comes as part of the Wali of Quriyat Office commitment to following up on health-related issues, strengthening cooperation among relevant entities, and supporting initiatives and programmes that contribute to advancing the healthcare sector and promoting health awareness among members of the community.
