Wali of Al Amerat Discusses Enhancing Employment Opportunities and Supporting Jobseekers

    His Excellency Hamad bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Wali of Al Amerat, met with Ammar bin Salem Al Saadi, Director General of Labour in Muscat Governorate, to discuss ways of enhancing employment opportunities for the Wilayat’s residents, supporting jobseekers, and expanding cooperation with private sector institutions.

    During the meeting, data on jobseekers from Al Amerat were reviewed. As well as, discussing the challenges associated with their employment, the opportunities available at institutions and companies, and ways of reinforcing coordination with the private sector to benefit from national competencies and provide them with suitable employment opportunities.

     The meeting discussed proposals for creating new job opportunities and providing training and qualification programmes aligned with labour market requirements. Furthermore, establishing mechanisms to follow up on newly created opportunities and monitor the outcomes of efforts undertaken in the field of employment.

     It further addressed ways of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and businesses managed by citizens, besides the forms of support that could be provided to their owners. The meeting discussed the circumstances and needs of financially disadvantaged families, with a view to strengthening integration across the economic, social and developmental fields.

The meeting emphasised the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation between the Office of the Wali of Al Amerat and the Directorate General of Labour in Muscat Governorate. While intensifying joint efforts to support employment and training opportunities and boost the economic and social stability of the residents.
