Abdul Hamid bin Abdulrahman Al Kharousi, Deputy Wali of Mutrah, met with the Headmistress of Al Saidia School to discuss visions and proposals related to the project for developing and revival of Al Saidia School. Thus preserving its historic and long-standing educational status and aligning with the urban and cultural development aspirations.

The meeting addressed numerous developmental concepts aimed at enhancing the role of Al Saidia School as a prominent educational, cultural, and tourist landmark through the establishment of a sustainable model school capable of attracting outstanding students and teachers, in addition to developing supporting educational and cultural facilities that serve the local community and visitors alike.

Among the proposals reviewed during the meeting was the establishment of a museum dedicated to documenting the history of education in Oman, alongside a community learning centre offering a variety of training and educational programmes. This would strengthen the school’s connection with its social and cultural surroundings and reinforce its role in serving future generations.

The meeting stressed the importance of preserving the historical identity of Al Saidia School and highlighting its pioneering role in the journey of Omani education, while making use of its location overlooking the Mutrah waterfront. Emphasis was further placed on the importance of integrating efforts among the relevant authorities to ensure the success of the project’s proposed plans and to strengthen Al Saidia School’s position as an educational, cultural, and community beacon that contributes to preserving educational heritage and enriching the cultural landscape.
