The Maritime Affairs Committee in Bawshar Discusses Transferring the Diplomatic Quarter’s Fishermen and Organising Maritime Matters

The Maritime Affairs Committee in Bawshar held its second meeting in 2026, chaired by His Excellency Ahmed bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Wali of Bawshar and Committee Chairman, and attended by the Committee members.
During this meeting, the Committee discussed numerous topics regarding organising and developing maritime affairs. The most primarily are transporting fishermen from the Diplomatic Quarter and identifying an appropriate site for them. Thereby providing an appropriate environment for them to perform their work. The committee examined marine buoys and their importance to organise maritime traffic and preserve safety.
The committee reviewed numerous proposals regarding conducting seminars and awareness-raising lectures to boost public consciousness of maritime issues and preserve our authentic maritime heritage.
The committee emphasised the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation between the relevant entities. Thereby it contributes to advancing services and regulating maritime work, and strengthening efforts to support the maritime sector and preserve its sustainability.
