`Qiyadi` Programme to Train Young Leaders Launches in Muscat Governorate

The activities of the National Programme to Train Young Leaders, ‘Qiyadi’, organised by Muscat Governorate in collaboration with the Centre for the Training of Young Leaders, will commence tomorrow (Thursday) and run from 14 to 16 May 2026. This programme is part of its efforts to develop young people’s skills, enhance their leadership and creative abilities, and create a conscious generation capable of contributing effectively to community service.
The Muscat Governorate is the second location in Oman to host this programme, which aims to develop leadership skills and responsibility among young people, instil the values of cooperation, teamwork, discipline and self-confidence. As well as, boost participants’ creative thinking skills, decision-making, dialogue and communication skills, and raise a spirit of self-initiative.
This programme targets the 11 to 14 years age group, involving more than 60 students, 40 of whom are appointed by the Directorate General of Education in Muscat Governorate. Whilst 20 participants are available to register through public registration, alongside numerous seats specially reserved for children of the Governorate`s employees.
This programme comprises diverse training and practical modules, covering planning and organisation, teamwork, motivation and encouragement, creativity and innovation. Furthermore, communication and problem-solving abilities, through conducting practical workshops and interactive activities that contribute to creating balanced leadership personalities within participants.
Muscat Governorate anticipates that this programme will have a positive impact on the local community through identifying promising talents at an early age and guiding them into positive directions that reinforce initiative, loyalty and social responsibility.
The programme’s outcomes reach advanced stages, with six participants to be qualified and selected to represent the governorate in the national programme across the Omani governorates. Subsequently, only 11 participants will be selected at the Sultanate level to take part in regional and international competitions and forums. Thereby reflecting the influence that the programme aspires to achieve by identifying and perfecting upcoming leaders.
The programme`s implementation aligns with the social and developmental roles performed by the Muscat Governorate and Their Excellencies the Walis’ Offices in various wilayats, through supporting purposeful initiatives that invest in humans and contribute to strengthening future generations` capabilities.
The ‘Qiyadi’ programme constitutes a remarkable step to prepare future leaders by utilising the energies of children and youth and empowering them to contribute efficiently to advancing society. Thus aligning with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which strengthen individuals, national competencies, and qualify a creative and highly skilled generation for future.
