Muscat Governorate Conducts an Introductory Workshop on the Risk Management Guide

The Muscat Governorate conducted an introductory workshop today (Wednesday) entitled “The Risk Management Guidelines in Muscat Governorate: Towards Institutional Readiness and Continuous Performance", as part of its efforts to boost applying risk management methodologies and raise institutional readiness across various administrative divisions. Majda Al-Sulti, Assistant Professor at Sultan Qaboos University delivered this workshop.
This workshop aimed to introduce the risk management guidelines for the Governorate and empower participants to apply its methodology practically. Thereby contributing to strengthening work continuity and supporting institutional performance efficiency, alongside advancing the ability to manage potential risks according to proactive and systematic principles.
The workshop addressed numerous topics relating to risk management, comprising the guide`s general framework and the methodology for identifying, analysing, assessing and addressing risks. As well as, reviewing the risks register, follow-up mechanisms and practical implementation, and the roles and responsibilities associated with implementing this methodology within the workplace.
This workshop involved practical exercises and interactive discussions to reinforce practical concepts, promote risks awareness, and support decision-making based on institutional analysis and evaluation.
This workshop contributes to unifying risk management concepts and practices across various administrative sections, and increasing the efficiency of risk register preparation and analysis. Thereby supporting the effective implementation of the guidance manual and enhancing the Governorate’s readiness and services sustainability.
These efforts form part of Muscat Governorate’s approach to strengthen governance and institutional resilience, aligning with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 to create highly efficient and sustainable institutions.
