
As part of ongoing cooperation between government entities, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, representing the Fisheries Development Department in Muscat, conducted a workshop in collaboration with Marine Affairs Committee in Mutrah. The workshop entitled “Guidance Programme Introducing the Executive Regulations of the Law on Living Aquatic Resources.”
This workshop aimed to raise awareness of the executive regulations of the Law on Living Aquatic Resources and to highlight the importance of their application in supporting sustainability and regulating fisheries sector. It boosts maritime safety for fishermen and workers in this vital sector.

The workshop covered several key topics. The most remarkably strengthening safety and sustainability in the fisheries sector, reviewing the national project for tracking artisanal fishing boats, and explaining the operation of tracking devices and their field use in improving maritime safety efficiency. Furthermore, discussing the regulatory framework of the executive regulations, their application, and their implementation in reality.
This workshop forms part of the joint efforts of the relevant entities to enhance compliance with the laws and regulations governing living aquatic resources. Thereby contributing to preserving marine resources and achieving sustainable development in the fisheries sector.
