Muscat Governorate Trains its Employees on Utilising Artificial Intelligence in the Workplace

26/04/2026

Muscat Governorate has commenced today (Sunday) conducting a specialised training programme for its employees entitled “Utilising Artificial Intelligence in the Workplace”. The programme will run for five days and forms part of the Governorate’s ongoing commitment to boost employees’ efficiency and developing their skills in line with the requirements of digital transformation and the rapid advancement of modern technologies.

This programme is introduced in alignment with contemporary directions that emphasise that artificial intelligence (AI) improves workplace environments. AI is regarded as one of the most noticeable enabling technologies, contributing to increased productivity and higher performance efficiency through automating procedures and accelerating task accomplishment. It supports decision-making by analysing data and providing accurate indicators that strengthen institutional work.

The programme focuses on providing participants with knowledge and skills associated to artificial intelligence, including its concepts, applications, and key areas of utilising within the workplace. It reviews the challenges associated with its use and highlights successful experiences and best practices in implementing artificial intelligence. Additionally, the programme displays key tools and practical applications, such as content and text generation tools, Chatbots, data analysis tools, and intelligent forecasting solutions. It also explores AI applications in recruitment and performance evaluation, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and supporting institutional decision-making. Furthermore, the programme examines mechanisms for integrating AI into digital transformation pathways within organisations. This includes understanding implementation stages, governance frameworks, and reviewing successful institutional models, enabling participants to develop preliminary concepts for smart institutional projects. The programme also emphasises the development of future skills, strengthening employees’ ability to adapt to smart work environments, fostering innovation and creativity, and anticipating future job roles in light of the rapid evolution of AI. It includes practical workshops aimed at designing AI-based institutional initiatives and projects. Participants are trained to develop actionable plans incorporating key performance indicators (KPIs) and sustainability elements. These projects are then presented and discussed, promoting a culture of innovation and teamwork.

The programme adopts a modern training methodology centred on practical application and interaction. This includes hands-on exercises, real-life case studies, discussions, brainstorming sessions, and the use of audio-visual aids, all of which contribute to reinforcing concepts and maximising learning outcomes. It is anticipated that the programme will empower Muscat Governorate employees to effectively utilise AI technologies and enhance their ability to integrate AI within the workplace. This, in turn, is expected to positively boost institutional performance, improve the quality of services, and strengthen readiness to meet future demands
