Addressing Team in Muscat Discusses Streets Names within the National Addressing Project

The Addressing Team in Muscat held a meeting chaired by His Excellency Ali bin Said Al Saidi, Wali of Muscat, to discuss suggested street names. This forms part of the National Addressing Project, which aims to establish a unified system for naming streets and numbering buildings. This project covers various villages and residential neighbourhoods, according to specific standards that consider the unique characteristics of each area.
During this meeting, numerous proposed names were outlined and discussed to ensure selecting names that reflect the cultural and civilisational identity of Muscat. Whilst additional suggestions that acknowledge the historical significance were introduced.
This meeting is part of continuous efforts to implement the National Addressing Project, which contributes to advancing addressing system and its efficiency, and supporting inclusive development. This project is a vital initiative being implemented in integrated stages. They begin with approving street names, following by creating a centralised addressing database, and finally installing identification signs on buildings and roads. This system facilitate access to locations, improve efficiency of logistics services, and boost rapid response to emergencies. As well as, supporting urban planning and providing accurate data to benefit various government and private entities.
