Health Committee in Quriyat Reviews the ‘Quriyat Health City’ Project

The Health Committee in Quriyat held its first meeting in 2026 today (Tuesday). His Excellency Sheikh Talal bin Saif Al Hosani, Wali of Quriyat chaired it, and committee members and representatives of the relevant entities attended it, as part of efforts to strengthen health system in Quriyat.
During this meeting, numerous health topics were reviewed, including the ‘Quriyat Health City’ project, which promotes the concept of healthy cities. As well as, discussing the report on the well-being of elderly people and its indicators and findings regarding healthcare and social care programmes for this group.
The meeting addressed various initiatives to be implemented in the coming period, notably the "Masir" initiative to encourage community members to engage in physical activities and promote healthy lifestyles. Furthermore a first-aid training initiative for government entities. Thereby, it contributes to enhancing emergency response preparations.
The committee considered conducting an awareness-raising lecture on vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV).
During the meeting, protective fencing at the Wadi Daiqa Dam, which boosts public safety procedures was addressed. Besides, following up the proposal to establish a temporary health centre to serve the western villages. Thus, it facilitates access to health services for beneficiaries.
This meeting addressed nursing services in schools and following up on students` health. Additionally, participating in the community competition to reduce narcotics and psychotropic substances.
