Social Development Committee in Seeb Discusses Community Investment

As part of efforts to boost social work and community initiatives, the Social Development Committee in Seeb held its second meeting in 2026, chaired by His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Al Shehhi, Wali of Seeb.
During this meeting, the Committee reviewed numerous difficult urgent humanitarian cases, emphasising identifying appropriate solutions that contribute to improving their living conditions. It examined data on school students from low-income families, to support them and provide an appropriate educational environment that enhances their educational opportunities.
The financial reports of Seeb Volunteer Team were discussed. Besides, reviewing the report on the ‘Tarabot’ campaign to raise marriage awareness, and its achieved results to promote community consciousness and family stability. This committee examined implementing numerous programmes to empower productive families and enhance their participation in economic activities. Thereby it contributes to improving incomes and boosts sustainability. It considered a proposal to establish the Eid season and Al-Ayoud markets at the new site near Muscat Municipality in Seeb, recognising the importance of holding community events and an appropriate environment.
The proposals from various companies and investors regarding the land of Seeb Volunteer Team were addressed. Furthermore discussing optimal ways to utilise this land to benefit community and achieve long-term returns.
The Social Development Committee proposes and implements social projects according to priorities. As well as, supporting and organising voluntary work and clarifying the legal frameworks governing it. It enhances standards of living for individuals and families through effective partnerships with the Municipal Council and civil institutions. Thereby, it contributes to achieving the intended development purposes.
