Khalid bin Aidah al-Junaibi, Deputy Wali of Quriyat, paid a field visit to Siyaa’ and Arqi regions to assess damages caused by the ‘Al-Masarrat’ rainstorm, resulting from rainfall and flooding in valleys and streams. The directors-general of the Muscat Municipality in Quriyat and Al Amerat, and numerous officials and citizens attended this visit.
The observed damages included numerous private properties and essential services, besides waterlogging and damaged sections of the road network, resulting from flooding in valleys and streams. This visit aimed to identify these damages and devise urgent solutions to address them. Thereby restoring normal conditions as quickly as possible within the Wilayat.
The Deputy Wali of Quriyat emphasised importance of coordinating efforts and roles among the relevant entities, praising early preparations that minimised impacts of the weather conditions. He noted that Muscat Governorate`s commitment to utilising all available abilities and resources, in coordination with various specialised entities, to respond effectively to the observable impacts.
