The Maritime Traditions Committee in Muscat held its regular meeting, chaired by His Excellency Ali bin Saeed Al Saidi, Wali of Muscat, as part of efforts to monitor maritime conditions and organise fishing activities. Relevant authorities and committee members attended this meeting.
During this meeting, His Excellency the Undersecretary responded to numerous topics. A range of issues associated with organising maritime activities were reviewed, primarily the latest developments regarding the Yenkit and Al-Harathi Marina project initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. Alongside discussing encircling fishing and emphasising compliance with laws and guidelines regulating fishing activities.
During the meeting, requests regarding Al-Jissah and organisational and service matters were addressed, the latest developments in the Committee`s work during the past period were reviewed, and challenges and possible solutions were identified.
At the meeting`s conclusion, attendees scheduled upcoming committee meetings’ dates to boost continuous coordination and implement recommendations. Thus, it assists fishermen and preserves maritime resources in the wilayat.
