The Maritime Traditions Committee in Mutrah holds first meeting of 2026

The Maritime Traditions Committee in Mutrah held its first meeting this year today (Wednesday), chaired by His Excellency Dr Hamad bin Saeed Al-Maamari, Wali of Mutrah.
During this meeting, various topics regarding maritime affairs in Mutrah were discussed, including the pier project in the Aint area and the direct impact of the implementing company`s work on fishermen`s boats and their daily activities.
Sand accumulation on the Darsait and Al-Qurum beaches was reviewed. As well as, reviewing files of expired fishing licences and taking appropriate decisions and procedures in this regard.
