His Majesty the Sultan’s Football Cup continues its tour around the Muscat wilayats, as part of events accompanying the final of the most prestigious cup, reflecting the cup’s significance and symbolism in the Omanis` hearts.
Starting from its first stop in Mutrah, passing through its historic gates, touring its ancient traditional market, alongside its vast beaches, and climbing its majestic mountains, reaching its Fort, a symbol of strength and superiority, the Cup arrived at its second stop in Bawshar, offering a national vision of love and loyalty.
Yesterday morning, the Cup marked its third stop in the historic Wilayat of Muscat, offering its landmarks and venues to welcome this precious Cup. Thus reflecting cultural heritage that spans centuries.
This Cup passed alongside the Gulf of Oman, overlooking the mountainous ranges. Mountains mark Muscat as key trading point, benefiting from its strategic location as Oman`s maritime gateway to the world.
This tour began at Muscat Gate, touching on ancient history of the castles and forts that protect and impose peace. Additionally, museums that preserve ancestors` heritage, memorialise a nation created by civilization and generations of loyal Omani people.
The Cup embarked on a cruise from Bandar Al-Rawdha to Al-Khairan, greeted by traditional folk arts and maritime chants that evoked Oman’s unique historical heritage, blending sport and identity.
The procession sailed on traditional wooden boats carrying the precious Cup passing through Yiti and Al-Bustan, showcasing the region`s rich history and hosting a national football tournament.
His Excellency Ali bin Said Al Saidi, Wali of Muscat, expressed pride that Muscat hosted the Sultan`s Cup Tour, emphasising the great national value of this event and reflecting the tournament`s national and social significances.
HE the Wali explained that the Cup Tour strengthens belonging and loyalty, promotes community engagement, and epitomises integration of sports, culture and history. Besides highlighting the civilisational and tourist attractions under the renewed renaissance. He emphasised this event`s arrival in Muscat reflects the city`s historical and cultural contributions, with community participation expressing the nation`s joy.
He confirmed that the Wilayat has utilised all human and logistical resources to succeed this national event, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and Main Committee organising the Sultan`s Cup Final, within integrated work that unites efforts and distributes roles. He indicated that this cooperation reflects the commitment of various entities to organise the accompanying events honourably. Thus, it contributes to boosting social engagement and strengthening sports within society` groups and Omani identity.
HE the Wali concluded his remarks by inviting the general Omani public, particularly Muscat citizens to participate in the accompanying events at the Supporters Village in Sahat Al Khuwair, and to enjoy the programmes and activities accompanying the tournament final.
