Work of the Rent Disputes Adjudication Committee Start in Bawshar

The Rental Disputes Adjudication Committee in Bawshar held its first session, chaired by Judge Ahmed bin Said bin Hamad Al Rawahi. The committee members attended it, as part of its remit to consider cases arising from rental contracts.
This committee specialises in examining disputes regarding real estate for various residential, commercial and industrial purposes, according to the legal frameworks organising the rental sector. Thus, balancing the rights of owners and tenants and addressing issues fairly and transparently.
The Committee`s work comes within efforts to develop the system to settle rental disputes. Thereby, it speeds up the proceedings for considering cases and facilitates beneficiaries` access to judicial services. As well as, supporting stable contractual relations between owners and tenants, protecting both parties` rights, and enhancing stability in the property market in Muscat Governorate.
Ministerial Decision No. (77/2025) stipulates forming five committees to settle rental disputes in Muscat Governorate, distributed geographically across wilayats. Specifically, two committees in Bawshar have jurisdiction over Muscat, Mutrah and Bawshar. While two committees in Seeb consider disputes within their jurisdictions, and a committee in Al Amerat to review disputes in Al Amerat and Quriyat.
