Social Development Committee in Muscat Discusses Cases and a Community Initiative

The Social Development Committee in Muscat held its first meeting in 2026, chaired by HE Wali of Muscat, and attended by committee members, as part of its ongoing efforts to boost social work and its mechanisms.
During this meeting, the 2025 recommendations and the implementing procedures taken were reviewed. Thus, it reflects the committee`s commitment to pursuing its decisions and enhancing performance efficiency. The Committee discussed numerous referred cases from the Social Development Department and made appropriate recommendations according to approved regulations and frameworks.
The Committee was briefed on the Muscat Charity Team`s report. It outlined the overall aid and initiatives conducted during the previous period, particularly Ramadan, to epitomise solidarity and compassion and strengthen community partnership.
At the conclusion, a proposal was discussed to launch a community initiative in partnership with the Muscat Charity Team and numerous private sector institutions. It aims to increase social engagement and promote cooperation and volunteerism. Thereby, it supports development efforts and social stability.
