01/12/2025

Today (Monday), Seeb celebrated a mass wedding ceremony organised by the Wali of Seeb Office, representing the Social Development Committee. His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, sponsored it at the Seeb Sports Stadium, participating 120 grooms. This reflected the values of solidarity and cooperation in Omani society.

This national initiative coincides with the glorious National Day celebrations and reflects the Royal directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said – may Allah protect and preserve him – to establish a marriage fund. It aims to facilitate marriage, reduce the financial costs on the youth, support family stability, and boost society and its institutions to promote cooperation and cohesion within members.

His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Al Shehhi, Wali of Seeb, emphasised that the mass wedding initiative expresses empowering the youth and promoting solidarity within community. He explained that the Royal Directive establishing the Marriage Fund supports young people, simplifies marriage and creates stable families. Thus contributing to strengthening social cohesion and national progress. He added that today`s celebration reflects the efforts and unity of Omani society.

This ceremony included performances that combined official and traditional cultural performances, folk groups presented heritage performances and national songs. As well as, poetry recitals and a festive operetta that highlighted authenticity, heritage, and the community efforts that succeeded this national initiative.

Muscat Governorate through the Wali of Seeb Office appreciates efforts of the organising committees, volunteers and supporters to achieve this successful initiative, which reflects Omani values of unity and cohesion.
