Sea Traditions in Muscat Discusses Fishermen`s Issues and Developing Fisheries

The Sea Traditions Committee in Muscat held a meeting headed by His Excellency Ali bin Said Al-Saidi, Wali of Muscat, to discuss several issues regarding maritime affairs, as part of its efforts to follow up on fishermen`s affairs and discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with the artisanal fishing sector and preserving fisheries.
This meeting was initiated with reviewing the previous minutes, following up fishermen`s affairs, and organising their storage distribution. The seaweed aquaculture project in front of the Fish Aquaculture Centre in Al-Bustan. As well as, various issues relating to marine infrastructure, including the Fish Market Harbour in Mutrah, the Marakhi in Haramel area, and Kabs Al Sahel in Bandar Al- Khayran.
This meeting aimed aimed to develop the marine sector and support its workers through following up on field issues relevant to fishermen and boosting maritime infrastructure. Thus, it contributes to achieving sustainable development in the maritime sector and sustaining fisheries.
