Muscat Governorate honours top 21 General Diploma Students

Muscat Governorate, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Education in the governorate, arranged a ceremony to honour the top students of the General Education Diploma for the academic year 2023/2024 on Wednesday at the Dohat Al Adab Theatre. It was sponsored by His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Humaidi, Head of Muscat Municipality, in the presence of parents.
This ceremony began with a welcoming panel, following a speech by the General Directorate of Education, and then the graduates’ speech by the honoured students. They expressed their thankfulness and appreciation for this generous gesture, affirmed that this great honour motivates them to continue achieving excellence. The programme included a visual presentation entitled ‘The Journey of Glory’, which illustrated the students` success during this academic year. Additionally, musical performances that gave the occasion a unique spirit.
During the event, 21 students who achieved more than 99% grades in the General Education Diploma and its equivalents from government and private (bilingual schools) and Islamic institutes were recognised in appreciation of their exceptional efforts and the high academic achievement of the governorate’s people.
This honour reflects Muscat Governorate`s keenness to support excellent achievers, encourage them to continue their hard work and diligence, and promote the value of knowledge to achieve comprehensive progress. The Governorate confirmed that this recognition also honours the families, who provided support and care. As well as, the teachers who worked continuously to guide their students to achieve these honourable ranks.
Muscat Governorate expressed great pride in its students as the country’s treasure and the pillar of its future. It stressed its aspiration to raise them to advanced leadership and scientific positions, contributing to Oman`s Renewed Renaissance under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, - May Allah Protect him- and promoting Oman`s regional and international ranking.
