Sports Spark’ attracts Visitors and Participants with Various Tournaments and Interactive Activities

     Sports Spark 2025 events continue at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, attracting a wide audience and participation from all age groups to mark its position as the most remarkable sporting and entertainment events in Muscat Governorate this summer. This momentum coincides with the continuous children`s summer camp, which offers various educational and recreational activities.


Exciting Competitions in Sports Tournaments



       This week marked a series of exciting tournaments, kicking off with 250 players participating in various electronic games competitions. The qualifications ran from 4 p.m to 9 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. The players qualified for the semi-finals yesterday, Wednesday, with the championship concluding today, Thursday, with the final matches from 5 p.m to 8 p.m.

      The ‘Question Answer’ championship involved three teams comprising 32 players, in a competitive spirit that relied on quick thinking and knowledge, creating great excitement and interaction between participants and audience.


Children’s Summer Camp, Enriching Skills and Promoting Team Spirit




        The children`s summer camp continues to welcome participants daily from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., registering more than 350 children since its launch. Activities range from team-building skills, interactive fun space, basketball, badminton, ninja challenge, self-defence skills, running track, hockey, golf, football, cricket, and fitness exercises in the gym. These activities contributed to developing the children`s physical and social skills and enhancing their teamwork spirit.


The Phygital Games Championship: Between Local Competition and Global Aspiration



           The phygital games championship, an innovative sport that combines both traditional and digital games, attracted more than 128 players distributed in eight teams, competing in a professional organisational environment.


     This event represents a link between local performance and global aspiration. Whereby the winning team of the 2024 tournament represented honourably the Sultanate of Oman at the Phygital Games World Cup in Abu Dhabi in July 2025, while the 2025 winner will participate in the Phygital Games World Cup in Kazakhstan in February 2026.


     The phygital games competition combines physical challenge with digital excitement. Two players from each team engage in an electronic match via the FC 24 game lasting three minutes per half, followed by a field challenge in five-a-side football with five players from each team, lasting five minutes per match.


      Experts describe phygital as a ‘`future game’ as it relies on augmented and virtual reality technologies. Thus, it provides an interactive experience that combines sporting enthusiasm and technological innovation.

Various Events and Great Attendance



        The events included tournaments and championships like the Spark Martial Arts, the Cricket, the Sohar International Football Tournament, the Summer Football Programme, and Hockey. As well as, open activities for the public such as the ‘Ninja Challenge’ for all ages in the evening. Thus enriching the pleasurable and sporting experience for the event’s visitors.
