Summer Camp for Children kicks off in Muscat Governorate within Sports Spark 2025

Within the framework of Muscat Governorate`s efforts to provide children with the best summer experiences to benefit them during the school holidays, a summer camp accompanying the Sports Spark 2025 kicked off today (Sunday) at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. The camp activities will run until 14 August 2025, daily from 8am to 2pm, targeting children between the ages of 6 and 14 years old.
The camp offers various programmes combining education and entertainment. They include sporting activities such as football, badminton, basketball, volleyball, Ninja Challenge, electronic games, board games, arts and crafts, life skills development workshops and other exciting events that enrich the participants` experience.
It focuses on promoting the concepts of teamwork, discipline, and developing children`s emotional and social intelligence through interaction with their peers and specialised programme presenters. Thus contributing to creating a balanced personality able to interact positively with their surroundings.
These events are part of Muscat Governorate`s efforts to promote sports and physical activities for children and provide an enjoyable and healthy environment during the summer holidays. As well as, giving opportunities to introduce them to new sports, participate in innovative educational activities, create friendships and enhance social relations through group activities and sports teams.
The camp will be held weekly for a month, from Sunday to Thursday, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, integrating education and recreation in an integrated programme to highlight the various recreational destinations in Muscat Governorate and offer unique programmes serving all community members.
On its first day, the camp attracted a remarkable attendance and great interaction from children and parents, praising the high quality of the programmes and organisation. Thus reflecting the increasing popularity of activities that meet the children`s requirements and contribute to developing their skills and talents.

To mark the of the summer camp inauguration, Sports Spark 2025 marks a series of sporting tournaments for various age groups. The summer football programme begins today, providing an ideal environment for fans of all ages to play their favourite sport in a well-organised and secure environment.
On Friday 18 July, the five-a-side football tournament kicked off with 20 teams involving in an exciting and competitive atmosphere. On the same day, the cricket tournament, which runs over five weekends, kicked off with 24 teams, offering a unique sporting experience that combines the spirit of challenge with the pleasure of play.
