Within the framework of Muscat Governorate`s efforts to improve the efficiency and skills of its staff and apply the best modern management practices, a training workshop entitled " Strengthening Management Capabilities in Risk Management and Continuous Operations Methodologies" was conducted today (Wednesday) in Muscat Governorate by Engineer Yousuf Al Jamoudi, an expert in governance, risk management and compliance.
This workshop aimed to raise institutional awareness and enable the governorate`s employees to implement scientific and practical methodologies in the field of institutional risk management and addressing crises to ensure continuous operations according to the latest global standards and frameworks.
During the workshop, several specialised topics were explained. They included the key concepts and definitions of institutional risk management, and relevant international frameworks and standards in this field. As well as, introducing risk management and its significance in organisations, creating an effective risk management methodology, and the association between risk management and continuous operations.
It reviewed the differences between risks, opportunities and issues, and the types and classifications of risks. Besides, the chief processes and procedures that contribute to the safe evaluation of risks and the appropriate response.
It develops participants` efficiency to create institutional risk management patterns, and raises their awareness of the practical procedures of risk management and continuous operations. Furthermore, enabling the participants to make decisions on a scientific evaluation of risks.
Saif Al-Rubaei, Manager of the Risk Management Department at Muscat Governorate, confirmed this workshop relevance. It develops the Muscat Governorate`s institutional performance, contributing to enhancing staff`s comprehension of risk management, and offering practical skills to address potential challenges efficiently. He indicated that achieving an institutional culture founded on early risk assessment and continuous operations supports services and enhances the quality of public performance.
This workshop marks a series of training programmes implemented by Muscat Governorate to promote organisational performance and to prepare for future challenges and risks efficiently and successfully.
