Muscat Governorate meets with its Ambassadors in the Digital Transformation Initiative

His Excellency Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, held a meeting with Muscat Governorate ambassadors of the “Governorate Ambassadors for Digital Transformation” initiative to confirm their role to promote digital culture and enhance utilising smart services within the governorate. Thus accompanying the national purposes to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable digital transformation.
This initiative reflects the Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, may Allah protect him, which confirms utilise digital transformation and modern technologies to improve the performance of the public sector and enhance the quality of life for citizens and residents.
During the meeting, His Excellency the Governor of Muscat highlighted that digital transformation is today a key cornerstone to enhance government efficiency and productivity, and achieve social welfare, praising the roles of the initiative`s ambassadors in the governorates as an effective link between the community and government institutions to promote digital awareness and using smart services.
This meeting introduced the Muscat Governorate Ambassadors, who represent a remarkable intellectual and social diversity. They included Madiha bint Said Al Sulaimani, a media and social influencer, Ahmed bin Said Al Harbi, Manager of the Information Technology Department at the General Directorate of Health, Tazima bint Tariq Al Ghanami, Senior Manager of Corporate Empowerment Applications at Omantel, Tamim bin Amer Al Qasimi, CEO of Irtikaz, Asaad bin Hamoud Al Qalhati, Information TechnologyTeacher, and Shihab Bin Samih Al Hattali, School Student, Student, accompanied by Muscat Governorate`s representative for the Digital Transformation Ambassadors, Ibrahim bin Saeed Al Hasani.
The ‘Governorate Ambassadors for Digital Transformation’ initiative is part of the Government Digital Transformation Programme`s implementation approach, which relies on institutional and community participation to implement digital initiatives. It ensures involving various government sector institutions and community members in transforming from interaction to integration, increasing performance efficiency and using digital services. This initiative aims to attract technologists, technologists, professionals and activists with passion and digital skills to be effective ambassadors throughout the governorates.
This initiative aimed to increase community awareness of digital services and solutions, enable individuals to use them effectively, and promote digital life as a sustainable choice. The initiative targets various audiences, including citizens, residents, students, job seekers, and retirees, through various focuses including awareness, empowerment, and digital engagement, through various methods such as campaigns, workshops, digital content, laboratories, and forums. The ambassadors perform vital roles that include disseminating knowledge, monitoring challenges, organising activities, and proposing innovative digital solutions across the governorates. Thus contributing to achieving the purposes of national digital transformation.
