Muscat Governorate conducts first media forum for Media Coordinators

TheDepartment of Communication and Media in Muscat Governorate today (Monday)conducted the first media forum for media coordinators within the efforts toenhance the media and communication message through training media coordinatorsfrom walis` offices and administrative departments in the governorate,enhancing their skills and knowledge to improve their media role and contributeto promoting the implemented activities, events and projects.
Thisforum started with the opening speech by Dr Suhail bin Salem Al Shanfari, MediaConsultant in Muscat Governorate, confirming the significance of this forum toprepare qualified media coordinators who can perform their tasks efficiently,noting that media today is a major partner in development and the presence ofexperienced media coordinators represents a unique contribution inpresenting the achievements of the community and institutions.
The forum`s programme included anumber of training workshops that involved communication, media and the rolesof the media coordinator, as well as, a workshop on the basics of press news, apaper on the basics of photography, and a special section on electronic newsand digital publishing to enhance participants` knowledge of the media skillsand principles that help them in media work and highlight effortsprofessionally and efficiently.
Thisforum is part of Muscat Governorate`s plan to improve the media performance ofthe media coordinators in the various administrative sections of MuscatGovernorate and introduce them to the practical steps of media work in linewith the requirements of the era and the digital transformation in thecommunication field.
