Muscat Governorate launches ‘Knowledge Ambassadors’ First Workshop

 Muscat Governorate conducted a workshop entitled ‘Drafting Contracts’ within the ‘Knowledge Ambassadors’ initiative, targeting the qualification and empowerment of Muscat Governorate employees in various fields.

    During the workshop, Dr Abdulmajeed bin Yousef Al-Aghbari, Manager of the Legal Department, delivered numerous topics regarding the understanding and drafting contracts, including the contract definition, its sources of legislation, its pillars, requirements, drafting prohibitions, cases of contract cancellation and Conflict resolution. As well as, explaining the differences between the powers of commissioners in various types of companies such as joint stock companies and limited liability companies.



      He also explained the difference between contract types and the stipulations associated with them, highlighting that using precise legal expressing and avoiding phrases capable of interpretation can ensure obligations’ clarity and reduce the chances of disputes.

       Al-Aghbari indicated that this workshop was responded to the ‘Knowledge Ambassadors’ initiative of the Department of Human Resources, confirming that improving legal drafting skills contributes directly to protecting public funds and ensuring that implementing contracts according to the accredited legal frameworks.  



      

 Participants interacted with this workshop. Khalfan Al Shukri, Manager of the Financial Affairs Department, appreciated the organisers` efforts, which enriched some legal fields contributing to enhancing the accuracy of the financial and supervisory procedures in the department.  

       Tahani Al Balushi, a civil engineer, commented that this training workshop enabled her understanding the legal vocabulary and identifying the types of contractual documents. Thus reflecting positively on the performance quality in the work environment.

       Engineer Khalid Al-Muqbali, Director of the Services and Maintenance Department, affirmed that this workshop contributes to reducing common errors in technical contracts. He noted that practical training on reviewing and drafting contracts was a unique contribution that will reflect on the efficiency of the implemented service projects in Muscat governorate. The ‘Knowledge Ambassadors’ initiative is implemented by Muscat Governorate, representing the Human Resources Department, which aims to share knowledge between employees in various fields. They include administrative, legal, media and other specialisations, within ambitious plans to improve abilities and enhance institutional culture.
