Muscat Governor discusses Strengthening Institutional Integration with the Consumer Protection Authority

His Excellency Sayyid Saud bin Hilal bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, met today (Tuesday) with His Excellency Salim bin Ali bin Salim Al Hakamani, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority. This meeting was attended by His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Hamidi, Head of Muscat Municipality and officials of both sides, within the efforts to strength institutional integration between government entities.

During the meeting, the Consumer Protection Authority reviewed the interactive performance indicators dashboard, which contribute to supporting data-based decision making and following up on issues relating to Muscat Governorate effectively. Thus, enhancing the quality of provided services and reflecting the joint institutional work spirit.
The Authority`s efforts in Muscat Governorate during the previous period, its upcoming plans, and its achievements in accordance with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 were also highlighted.

A number of topics regarding consumer protection, the integrative role of the Authority in cooperation with Muscat Governorate and various relevant institutions, particularly regarding monitoring markets, observations and suggestions, addressing complaints and reports. Aswell as, promoting knowledge and legal awareness of consumers through systematic awareness campaigns were discussed.
During the meeting, the most significant statistical indicators of the Authority`s efforts in Muscat Governorate were highlighted.
This meeting marks a series of coordinating meetings conducted by government and service entities to promote the efficiency of collaborative work and the principle of institutional partnership.
