The Holy Quran Memorization Evaluation Competition, which was supervised by the Wali of Muscat`s Office and organised by the Muscat Charity Team, concluded today (Tuesday). Ten schools from Muscat participated in the competition, comprising 120 students from the age group of 6 to 17 years old.
The competition consists of five levels. The first level involves memorising five Qur`anic consecutive parts for students in grades (11-12). While, the second level includes memorising four following parts for grades (8-10) students, and the third level memorising three consecutive parts for grades (5-7). While the level four required memorising two sequential parts for grades (3-4)pupils, the level five focused on memorising one part and is for the early childhood education stage until grade 2.
The first evaluation and short listing stage of schools began in November 2024. The participants` names were submitted to the Muscat Charity Team`s organising committee, assisted by a formed committee from the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
This initiative was (conducted) for the second year and reflects the joint efforts between the Wali of Muscat`s Office and the Muscat Charity Team. It motivates young people to memorise the Holy Quran and promotes Islamic values in their behaviour.
