Third Mutrah Enrichment Forum discusses Enhancing Financial Sustainability

      Muscat Governorate hosted the third Mutrah Enrichment Forum entitled ‘Professional Development and Knowledge Enrichment’ at the Muscat Governorate building attended by several officials and educational specialists. This forum sponsored by His Excellency Dr Hamad bin Saeed Al Mamari, Wali of Mutrah and Chairman of the Parents Council. 


   It promoted sustainable financial management among schools’ administrators and students through introducing various working papers presented by experts and specialists in smart financial management and combating financial waste. 

Dr Mubarak bin Khalfan Al Rahbi from the State Audit Institution introduced the forum`s first paper on ‘Integrity Role in Protecting Public Funds’. He discussed financial integrity`s importance to strengthen citizens` trust in institutions and achieve economic and social security. Hamad Bin Saif Al Jabri from the Central Bank of Oman highlighted ‘Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Risks’ at the second paper. He reviewed the stages of money laundering and ways to prevent it, and the Central Bank`s efforts to combat it.


To raise participants` awareness of financial management, Dr Suad bint Jassim from the College of Banking and Financial Studies gave the third paper on ’Managing Financial Resources Smartly: Achieving Effective Financial Sustainability in Educational Institutions’. She outlined the best practices to achieve financial sustainability in educational sector. Mr Hussain bin Ali Al Balushi introduced the fourth paper entitled ‘Managing Financial Resources in Schools’, discussing financial management and planning in schools and the expenditure, documentation and financial resources auditing.  

This forum was a voluntary initiative implemented by the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Parents` Council in Mutrah. It promotes awareness of financial resources sustainability and their role to achieve sustainable development, according to Oman Vision 2040’s strategic objectives.
