Muscat Governorate conducts Workshop on Safe Dealing with Cyberspace

To enhance the cybersecurity awareness and abilities of employees, Muscat Governorate, in collaboration with the Cyber Defense Centre, conducted a workshop entitled ‘Exploring Cyberspace and the National Cyber Defense Strategy’ on Wednesday.
The workshop aimed to enhance information security and data protection in the governorate, and to implement the best practices to ensure a secure electronic environment, according to the approved security policies that raise awareness of information security and face the increasing cyberspace challenges.
The workshop reviewed the risks of cyberspace in Oman and cyber tracking generally, including best practices to reduce these risks. It discussed the National Cyber Defense Strategy prepared by the Cyber Defense Centre to implement Royal Decree No. 64/2020, which enables Oman to have a secure cyberspace that contributes to achieve Oman`s Vision 2040.
The National Cyber Defense Strategy is concerned with securing the digital assets of institutions and developing suspicious software monitoring systems. As well as, the vital infrastructures’ protection through identifying important sectors and the associated digital assets.
