Social Development Committee in Muscat holds its first meeting in 2025

The Social Development Committee in Muscat held its first meeting in 2025 headed by His Excellency Ali bin Said Al Saidi, Wali of Muscat and Chairman of the Committee.
During the meeting, the new committee membership for the period from 2025 to 2028, and the committee`s specializations and roles to enhance social and voluntary work were reviewed. Additionally, discussing the regulations of the social development committees and voluntary teams No. 217/2024.
The Muscat Charity Team reviewed its work and achievements during 2024. They highlighted the implemented voluntary initiatives and programmes for the wilayat’s service, discussed the assistance requests received from the Department of Social Development, and take appropriate recommendations to support these requests that achieve the committee`s purposes.
The Social Development Committee is specialized to propose social projects that benefit the wilayat according to its priorities and submit them to the Ministry of Social Development. It also supports and organises voluntary work and its institutions, and encourages projects that achieve continuous income to individuals and families with low incomes and people with disabilities, in cooperation with the relevant entities.
