Sea Traditions Committee discusses Development Projects in Quriyat

The Quriyat Sea Traditions Committee held a meeting under the chair of His Excellency Sheikh Talal bin Saif Al Hosani, Wali of Quriyat and Committee`s Chairman, with theattendance of members. Several development projects to enhance the fisheries sector were discussed.
The tendering processfor the Fens landing pier project, which is expected to improve fish landing services and facilitate traditional fishing was discussed at the meeting. Additionally, the pier project`s start at the fishing port in Quriyat, to enhance the port`s infrastructure and provide an integrated service environment for fishermen was highlighted.
The committee confirmed that fishermen must renew the licenses of fishing boats, according to the regulations that organize the maritime fishing to regulate the sector and ensure the maritime activities` continuance.
These meetings reflect the committee`s efforts to develop the fisheries sector. Thus, it improves the local economy and fishermen`s livelihoods.
