Within the annual meetings that aim to enhance communication between heads of service units and governors, His Excellency Saud bin Hilal AlBusaidi, Muscat Governor, met with Dr Layla bint Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, on Sunday to review the Ministry`s efforts and cooperation and partnership fields with Muscat Governorate.
The meeting included exchanging visions on social care fields and developing a joint workplan in coordination with social development committees and civil society organisations. They discussed ways to enhance cooperation between various governmental, private and non-governmental organisations to provide integrated services that benefit the deserving groups.
The role that social development committees’ play to study the community needs, and the charitable teams to solve the needy families’ cases were discussed. The family role in socialisation and family cohesion, discussing various topics related to supporting persons with disabilities, and offering institutional support to the society development were also highlighted.
Their Excellencies the governorate walis, the Social Committee’s members of the Muscat Municipal Council, and many officials from the Ministry of Social Development attended the meeting.
