Tenders, Contracts and Procurements Supervision Programme Launches in Muscat Governorate

    Muscat Governorate today (Tuesday) organized a training program titled ‘’Supervision of Tenders, Contracts and Procurements‘’, in collaboration with the State Audit Institution. The program aims to enhance the Muscat Governorate employees’ abilities who specialize in administrative and financial affairs and internal audit. The program will continue for three days at the Muscat Governorate building.

    The program pursues to enhance participants` comprehension of the government tenders’ regulations and identify best practices in the procurements and contracts’ fields. Thus, enhancing the supervision effectiveness of these vital processes.

    This program was presented by Dr. Mubarak bin Khalfan Al Rahbi, Manager of the Economic Affairs Control Department, and Buthaina bint Khamis Al Dughayshi, Manager of the Complaints and Notifications Department. Several key topics were discussed, including the terms and principles of the Tenders Law and its Executive Regulations, with a focus on common issues in this field. Participants were also introduced to the basic concepts of tenders and various contracting methods. As well as, change commands regarding contracts. Furthermore, the program introduced participants to the procurements and government contracts’ concepts. Thus, they enable them to understand the rules leading these processes and effectively manage contracts, with a focus on how to control the procurements process. The program also included general discussions on basic concepts, laws and legislations regarding tenders, contracts and procurements.

    This program comes within the partnership between the state administrative authority’s entities, and reflects the done efforts to enhance transparency and integrity in the public funds’ management. It improves government performance by empowering employees to effectively face the challenges related to government tenders and procurements.
