Muscat Governorate today (Thursday) celebrated Omani Women`s Day, which marks on 17 October, in celebration of the women`s role and their effective contributions to the Sultanate`s development, at the Muscat Governorate building.
The ceremony, which was attended by female employees from various administrative departments, began with a welcoming speech by Iman bint Yassir Al Siyabi, Manager of the Muscat Governor`s Office, who praised the Omani women`s important role in various fields and the women`s contributions who work in Muscat Governorate. The program included a visual presentation to highlight the Omani women`s achievements and their position as a main cornerstone in the national development process. The ceremony included various cultural and entertainment competitions to promote a spirit of friendship and positive competition among female employees. As a reflection of the governorate`s commitment to support women, the Legal Department reviewed the most significant laws regarding women in various Omani legislations that guarantee their rights in all fields. An advisory corner has been created with various private organizations to provide various consultations.
Muscat Governorate affirms the importance of continuous support and empowerment of Omani women in all sectors, appreciating their achievements and contributions to Oman`s modern renaissance. It is worth noting that this year`s celebration of Omani Women`s Day is entitled "Omani Women in Culture, Literature and Manuscripts".It confirms the leading role that women play in these vibrant fields.
