Muscat Governorate concluded the five-day ‘Future Leaders’ program on Thursday, targeting departments’ heads in the various administrative departments of the governorate. The program aims to enable second-line leaders to form ambitious national efficiencies able to deal with future challenges and use available opportunities in order to achieve effective organizational performance.
Dr. Mohammed bin Fayel Al Arimi, a trainer specialized in the higher thinking skills’ development for leaders presented this program. The program included training participants to develop their skills in the fields of administrative leadership and institutional change, strategic planning, administrative management, effective communication, emotional intelligence, and innovation indecision-making. Thus, it contributes to qualify them to deal with the current and future stage’s requirements.
Saeed bin Hamdan Al Shukri, Head of Salaries and Leave Section, added: “My participation in the Future Leaders Program has had a great influence on enhancing my leadership and management skills: My participation in the Future Leaders Program had a great influence in enhancing my leadership and management skills, as it provided me with the most important scientific foundations and practical models that helped me build self-confidence and develop my abilities to achieve success and excellence in the fields of work,’ said Saeed bin Hamdan Al Shukri, Head of the Salaries and Holidays Department”. He stressed that the knowledge and experiences he gained from the program will reflect positively on his personal and professional performance, and will effectively contribute to develop the Human Resources Department and its performance.
Mohammed bin Humaid Al Wahshi, the Planning and Development Department’s head in Muscat Governorate, stressed that Oman Vision 2040 and the changes in the government`s administrative system make it necessary to implement modern management methods and strategies related to the vision. “The Future Leaders Program provides employees in leadership positions with the practical skills required by the current stage, with a focus on offering unique scientific content and active participation from the participants” he added. Sheikha bint Al Khalil AlKharousi, the Reception and Registration Department’s head, praised the program content, describing it as rich in valuable information. She explained that the program provided participants with the opportunity to learn strategic planning and efficient team management, as well as how to make the right decisions at the right time and deal with administrative issues to enhance productivity.
By this program organization, Muscat Governorate pursues to develop national efficiencies and prepare leaders able to face future challenges and achieve sustainable development efficiently. According to Oman`s Vision 2040, which aims to create a sustainable society that depends on innovative and qualified national competencies to achieve progress in various fields.
