Muscat and North Al Sharqiyah governorates exchange experiences and specialties

Muscat Governorate today (Monday) received a delegation fromNorth Al Sharqiyah Governorate at the Muscat Governorate building withincooperation promotion and experiences’ exchanging between governorates in Oman.Several offered projects and services in various sectors of service and developmentin Muscat, with the officials and specialists’ participation from bothorganizations.
The visit aims toprovide employees with the opportunity to learn about Muscat Governorate`sexperience in the fields of urban planning, project management, plans, andbusiness strategies. Additionally, discussions on municipal work and localadministration, within the governorates` development priorities.
The visit programincluded a welcoming speech, followed by a documentary film that reviews themost notable landmarks and achievements of Muscat Governorate. As well as, ahistorical insight into municipal work.Dr. Abdul Majeed Al Aghbari, the Legal Department’s manager in MuscatGovernorate, gave a detailed presentation on governance implementations inMuscat Governorate`s local administration, including the Strategic Plan,Institutional Excellence Indicators, Transactions Charter, and Procedures’Documentation. The project aims to document processes and procedures bydeveloping an implementation plan to collect and document procedures accordingto a specific timeline, which contributes to improve the user experience,reduce time, effort and resources. As well as, promoting digital transformationin Muscat Governorate.
MuscatMunicipality also reviewed several projects. Rehab Al Saadi presented a visualpresentation on the ‘Etamid Platform’, an advanced and integrated digitalplatform that unifies the procedures for issuing a no-objection certificate forall excavation activities outside the land borders within Muscat Governorate,for the various types of service lines. The program displayed a filmhighlighting Muscat Municipality`s projects, such as road paving, waterdrainage projects, walkways, public parks, lighting projects and others.
Engineer Salim AlAmeri presented Muscat Municipality`s experience in municipal licences. FatimaAl Fazari discussed the strategy for projects’ preparation in the annual plan,which focuses on the sources for preparing the plan, the aims card, thestrategy for preparing the annual plan, and the proposed projects card inMuscat Municipality.

The first day`sprogramme concluded with an open discussion session, during which the twogovernorates’ staff exchanged views and experiences on best practices in localadministration. So, enhancing cooperation between the governorates.
The visit willcontinue until Tuesday, October 8, and the second day`s programme includesfield visits to several Muscat Governorate projects. For example, the OmanBotanical Garden in Al Khoud, the Al Khuwair Square site, and the SustainableCity Yiti site.
This visit comeswithin continuous efforts to achieve integration between governorates andexchange experiences that contribute to the municipal and administrative work’sdevelopment, according to Oman`s Vision 2040 and the governorates’ development.These visits offer an opportunity to learn from other governorates’ experiencesin the planning and project management fields. Also, to learn about bestpractices in terms of the projects, and the implementation and follow-upmethods.
