Muscat Governor sponsors the Ceremony Honouring the 2024 Literary Creativity Competition winners for school students

To emphasize the literature in the young people’s lives and developing their talents and abilities, His Excellency Saud bin Hilal AlBusaidi, Muscat Governor, today (Wednesday) sponsored a ceremony to honour the winners of the Omani Society for Writers and Literatures Muscat Literary Creativity Award 2024 for school students. The Omani Society for Writers and Literatures organized it in collaboration with the General Directorate of Education in Muscat Governorate.
The ceremony`s program included a speech delivered by Engineer Said bin Mohammed Al Saqlawi, President of the Omani Association of Writers and Writers, in which he praised the support and efforts based on this award, interaction with it, participation and motivation of schools and students to achieve these creative achievements that contribute effectively and influentially to the creation of future writers and innovators. The ceremony also included a visual presentation about the association, and a spoken word performance by student Janan Al Ajmi from Zainab Al Asadi Basic Education School.
This award aims to develop the abilities of talented and creative students in the literary fields, and to encourage civil society and institutions to support and motivate these talents to achieve further motivation and progress. The organizers also create a competitive environment that motivates students to create literature, and supporting and publishing the winners’ unique literary works. This is through the society rolein this field, enhancing awareness of the literature and developing the talents and creativity of young people.
It is worth mentioning that the award targeted all public, private school students, and special education students. It focused on two categories, the first category is from seven to ten years old, and the second category is from eleven to eighteen years old. The competition fields for the junior category included literary essay, promising speaker, poetry recitation, and young reader, while the adolescent category included eloquent poetry, literary research, critical reading, short story, and literary essay.
Through its sponsorship, Muscat Governorate emphasises the importance of the award and confirms its status as a national project in its content and levels, in addition to consolidating the values of literary beauty and developing them among creative and talented people in the literary field in all provinces of the governorate.
