Today (Tuesday),the Health Committee in Muttrah, in coordination with the Health Supervision Office, organized a training workshop, which aimed to prepare important points for awareness of acquired human immunodeficiency syndrome. This was in the lectures hall of the Majan University College building. Abdul Hamid bin AbdulRahman Al Kharousi, Muttrah wali deputy, sponsored it.
This workshop isas part of continuing efforts that began last year. It aims to enhance the educational staff and teachers’ capabilities to educate students about acquired human immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and promote general health awareness inthe school community.
The workshop included various lectures and interactive sessions that addressed the topic of HIV awareness. Its causes, transmission methods, and prevention methods were reviewed. The teachers’ essential role in educating students about the disease was also highlighted, as they are guides and advisors in health awareness. The importance of accurate health information and guiding teachers on best practices in the educating students’ field about diseases in a manner appropriate to their ages and social environments was also discussed.
At the workshop conclusion, Abdul Hamid bin Abdul Rahman Al Kharousi, Muttrah wali deputy, stressed the importance of these initiatives to promote health awareness among students and society generally. He mentioned that early and effective awareness has an effective role in the diseases’ reduction and future generations’ protection. He praised the done efforts by the organizers and educational staff to implement this workshop successfully.
