Muscat Governorate continues the activities and initiatives of the “Sports Spark” event, which will be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center until next August 24, within a number of various sporting and entertainment activities that aim to enhance the benefit of summer sports for all individuals and groups of society. They are via the diversity and richness of activities specialized to children, youth and families, and to hold initial innovations in sports fields.
Special days for women
Within Muscat Governorate’s interest in offering a dedicated sports environment for women, specific days have been apportioned for them as part of the summer sports event. In order to keep their privacy and provide the opportunity to practice sports activities comfortably in a safe and appropriate environment. Saturday, August 3 and August 17, have been chosen as entertainment days for women, from three in the evening until twelve after midnight. Those wishing to participate can register for a fee ofonly 5 riyals by sending a message via WhatsApp number 79006052 or visiting the event website www.sportsparkoman.com. The activities include various sports activities, including athletics and electronic games, in addition to sound therapy sessions, aerobic exercises, Zumba, and others.
Awareness events and activities
In order to enhance the complementary role between Muscat Governorate and the Consumer Protection Authority in increasing consumer awareness to various groups of society. The Authority participated in organization of an awareness event for children as part of the Sport Spark activities. Participation included presenting visual presentations, including pictures and clips, appropriate for different age groups. Additionally, several competitions and cultural activities to introduce children to safe consumer culture, commercial fraud, and prohibited goods. As well as, enhancing their social responsibility and introducing them to the services that offered by the Authority. This event is within the activities accompanying the awareness campaign (Edraak) that organized by the Authority. It is hoped that the Authority’s participation will continue for four weeks, on Monday of every week during the morning period that is selected for children.
Summer camp of children
The children`s summer camp was well received by the participating children in the first week. Its activities continue for a month from Sunday to Thursday from 8 am to 1 pm. It targets children from 6 to 14 years old. Summer camp provides children with an entertaining and healthy experience during summer vacation because it gives them the opportunity to practice new sports and participate in inspiring educational activities. The summer camp activities include various recreational and educational activities and events, including sports activities. For example, football, badminton, basketball, volleyball, and Ninja challenge. As well as, other games such as electronic games, board games, arts and crafts, life skills’ learning, Ninja challenge and many more.
