Sea TraditionCommittee in Bawshar Wilayat held its second meeting this year, headed by HisExcellency Ahmed bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Bawshar Wali. The meeting aimed todiscuss several topics on its agenda.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the previousmeeting’s recommendations and what was implemented of them. It also discussedactivating the fish market in Al Ghubrah, organizing fish selling sites, and suggestionson organizing and maintaining umbrellas in fishing villages. As well as, theproblem of overlapping fishing equipment and violating the rules andregulations that organize marine fishing, and develop appropriate solutions.The committee also discussed requests for support for fishermen and the delayin boat licenses’ issuance.
It is noteworthy thatthe Sea Traditions Committee is concerned with recommendations’ offer for thedevelopment of fishery, an opinion’s expression on related laws, fishermen’saffairs’ management and conflicts’ solution, fish marketing’s improvement, and guaranteeingtheir availability in the markets in cooperation with those working in thefishing sector.
