Muscat Municipality announced its preparations’completion to receive Blessed Eid Al-Adha in all organizational and technicalsides in both the “Central Market for Vegetables and Fruits” and slaughterhouses.The municipality was keen on ensure the local products’ availability inquantities that meet the increasing and expected demand for vegetables andfruits particularly and all kinds. The number of shipments received into themarket during the period from (11/5/2024 to 11/6/2024) reached (1026) shipmentsloaded with tons of vegetables and fruits.
Themunicipality has set the working hours of the “Central Market for Vegetablesand Fruits”, starting from Thursday, 13th June, until Sunday, 16th June. Workstarts from four in the morning until five in the evening (4am to 5pm) for themain canopy specified to wholesale fruits’ selling. While the local productionsite and wholesale stores are from four in the morning until five-thirty in theevening (4am to 5:30pm). The municipality also set the working hours of retailstores to be continuous from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. To organize the entrances andexits of the market in a way that ensures the ease of vehicles’ entry and exitand the simple movement of traffic. The municipality has set entry times forvehicles transporting vegetables and fruits in wholesale from Gate No. (1) forthe period from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. While customers’ cars will enter from GatesNo. (2) and No. (5) from 4:30 am to 10:30 pm.
The marketwill remain open on Friday, June 14, 2024 during two periods. The first periodcontinues from (4:30 am to 10 am). The second period continues from (2 pm to 10pm). The market will be closed on the first and second days of Eid Al-Adha.

On the otherhand, Muscat Municipality has confirmed its slaughterhouses’ readiness toreceive all the sacrificial animals of community members during Eid Al-Adha.Its technical and healthy preparations have been increased, includingslaughterhouses’ preparation and an integrated medical staff’s offer, performfull maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipments, confirming all healthrequirements to site preparation, and preparing sacrificial slaughter halls toensure the quality work’s offer on the one hand, and reduce crowding on theother hand.
MuscatMunicipality pursues to organize the operation of the Seeb and Al Ameratslaughterhouses, together with the company that operates the slaughterhouses.This is by organization and schedulization of working hours in slaughterhouses,that suits the demand increasing and achieves the beneficiaries’ satisfaction.The two slaughterhouses will operate from Thursday, 6th Dhu al-Hijjah, until Saturday, 8th Dhual-Hijjah, for individuals, from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm, with work limited toFriday until eleven in the morning. While, for companies, work will start from3:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
MuscatMunicipality guides all institutions, charities, meat companies and shops thatwish to slaughter livestock in Muscat Municipality slaughterhouses tocommunicate previously with the company that is operative the slaughterhousesuntil 8 Dhu al-Hijjah. Applications will not be accepted after the 8th of Dhual-Hijjah.
Themunicipal slaughterhouses’ work during the period from Sunday 9th Dhu al-Hijjahuntil the second day of Eid al-Adha will be limited to receive requests forsacrificial animals for individuals only. The period will include from (7:00 amto 2:00 pm) for the sheep and goats’ slaughter. While, for sacrificial animalsof cows and camels, work will start from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
It is worthmentioning that slaughterhouse work will resume according to the previous time(6:00 am to 1:00 pm), starting on the fourth day of Eid Al-Adha 1445 AH.
