Within the framework of the preparations for the seminar ‘Mutrah through History’, which is organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in cooperation with the Office of Wali of Mutrah. His Excellency Dr Hamad bin Said Al Mamari, Wali of Mutrah and the head of the seminar`s main committee, chaired a preparatory meeting with the committee members.
The organisational and media sides of the seminar, which will be held on December 18 and 19, to highlight Mutrah`s ancient history and its remarkable cultural heritage, which reflects its civilisational status throughout the ages were discussed in the meeting. The meeting also reviewed the work plan, its implementation and the media aspects to ensure comprehensive coverage that highlights the seminar’s importance and its cultural message. HE the Wali and the committee members also took a field visit to Majan University College, the host of the seminar, to view the halls and facilities’ preparation, and ensure that all the necessary resources are available for the event’s success.
The ‘Mutrah through History’ Seminar is a major scientific and cultural event that aims to document the cultural and historical heritage and review its civilisational role over the ages. Through various scientific topics and research papers that were prepared by a group of specialists, the seminar pursues to highlight the historical basis of Mutrah and promote its cultural identity. This seminar gains great importance as it highlights Mutrah`s ancient history and offers scientific visions that contribute to preserve heritage and utilise it for cultural and community development.
